Chem-Crete® Greenicer® CRD48

Chem-Crete^® Greenicer^® CRD48 is an environmentally accountable, water-based penetrating treatment that combines the functions of a green deicer and a waterproofing restoration system for concrete pavement durability enhancement. The product is specifically formulated to reduce freezing and ice adhesion and diminish the need for conventional and harmful chloride-based deicing chemicals, while restoring the waterproofing characteristics of existing concrete. Chem-Crete^® Greenicer^® CRD48 is used for exterior concrete surfaces subject to harsh freezing conditions. It enhances concrete sustainability, reduces maintenance cost and increases concrete life cycles.

Simultaneously, Greenicer^® CRD48 treatment reduces the freezing of water at concrete surface and modifies the near-surface characteristics and pore structure, reducing moisture retention and weakening the bond strength between ice and the concrete surface.

While functioning as a deicer, Greenicer^® CRD48 combines hygroscopic crystals for pore-blocking function, and hydrophobic treatment for pore lining and water-repelling characteristics, reducing the conditions for water freezing onto concrete and ice adhesion. The treated concrete surface remains breathable, with preserved natural appearance. Unlike conventional chlorine-based deicing salts, that can be washed away or promote harmful penetration of chlorine ions, Greenicer^® CRD48 is chlorine-free and becomes an integral part of the concrete matrix. Hence, it enhances long-term protection of concrete against water penetration, freezing and thawing deterioration, chloride ingress, and scaling. Chem-Crete® Greenicer^® CRD48 is designed for restoration of existing concrete infrastructure and for sustainable winter maintenance programs where environmental protection and concrete durability are priorities.
